… The relocated fat must form a healthy blood supply during the first two weeks in order to survive, which is why it’s critical not to sit or lay down without the use of a pillow or inflatable donut. Dr. Parakh advises patients to avoid putting pressure on the grafted areas and to sleep on their stomachs, so the fat can optimally survive. She also suggests wearing support garments during the first few weeks after surgery. A change in shape can be seen following the procedure, but it can take a few weeks for the swelling and bruises to subside, and six months for the final results to settle in…
