How Does Avéli Treat Cellulite?

To understand the Avéli treatment process, you should first understand how cellulite forms. Cellulite is caused by bands of fibrous connective tissue located beneath the skin. These bands of tissue, also called septa, tug on the skin from within, which creates the little dimples that we know as cellulite. To treat cellulite, Avéli works by simply cutting those bands of connective fibrous tissue.

When the Avéli device is inserted into an incision in the skin, it uses a small razor to sever the individual septa that are creating your cellulite. Once severed, this releases the pull on the skin, which smooths it out and removes the divots that are noticable on the surface.

How Long Is the Recovery Time?

Most patients experience some bruising, swelling, and soreness after undergoing Avéli treatment. The discomfort should only last a few days, and the bruising and swelling should subside gradually over several weeks. You should be able to resume your normal routine and return to work within a day or two, but you’ll want to avoid strenuous physical activity for one to two weeks.

When Will I See Results After Avéli Treatment?

If you following the recovery recommendations, you will likely be able to see the full results of your Avéli treatment approximately one month after the procedure. By then, the swelling and bruising should disappear entirely to reveal smooth, vibrant skin.

What Should I Expect During the Procedure?

Before you undergo your Avéli treatment in New Jersey, the first step will be a consultation with Dr. Parakh. She will go over the treatment with you, answer any questions you have, and help you determine if it’s the best option for your cellulite issue. The doctor will need to know about your medical history and current health. She’ll also need to know if you have any allergies or take any medications.

Avéli treatment is a relatively simple procedure that’s typically performed on an outpatient basis. To begin, you’ll be administered local anesthesia to prevent any pain during the treatment. Next, Dr. Parakh will make several small incisions in the treatment area. She will then insert the handheld Avéli device into these incisions and use its tiny razor to begin cutting individual bands of fibrous connective tissue. She will be careful to only cut the specific septa responsible for your cellulite. Finally, the doctor will close your incisions and apply bandages to the area.

What is Avéli and how does it work to treat cellulite?

Avéli is a minimally invasive, FDA-approved treatment that targets and treats the underlying cause of cellulite. Using a small handheld device, Avéli cuts the fibrous bands of connective tissue, known as septa, that create dimples on the skin. This smooths out the skin, reducing the appearance of cellulite on the thighs and buttocks.

How long does it take to see results from Avéli treatment?

Patients typically start to see noticeable improvements in their skin texture and appearance about one month after the Avéli treatment. While some results may be visible earlier, the full effect is achieved once swelling and bruising subside, revealing smoother, more youthful skin.

Is Avéli a safe treatment for cellulite, and what are the risks?

Avéli is a safe and effective treatment for most individuals with mild to moderate cellulite. As with any medical procedure, there are risks, including temporary bruising, swelling, and soreness. Serious complications are rare, but it's important to follow post-treatment instructions for optimal results and minimal risks.

What should I do to ensure the best results after my Avéli treatment?

To maximize the results of your Avéli treatment, it’s important to follow Dr. Parakh’s post-procedure care instructions, including wearing any recommended compression garments and avoiding strenuous physical activity for a couple of weeks. Staying hydrated, eating a healthy diet, and maintaining a stable weight will also help enhance and prolong your results.
