Contour TRL™ Laser Resurfacing

Sciton’s Contour TRL™ is praised as one of the safest laser resurfacing treatments. Dr. Parakh can fine-tune the highly customizable and micron precision treatment to meet your aesthetic goals and needs, especially useful if you have more trouble areas of damaged skin on areas of your face, neck, chest, or arms. Laser skin resurfacing achieves clearer, more youthful-looking skin by removing the outermost layer of damaged cells.

In addition to eradicating surface-level damage, laser skin resurfacing replenishes collagen reserves to boost skin suppleness from the inside out. Collagen is a core protein in the skin that provides hydration, firmness, and resilience. As the body ages, collagen production slows significantly, creating volume loss, creases, and folds. By encouraging your body to produce more collagen over time, your skin will regenerate new, healthy cells, giving your complexion a younger and more rejuvenated appearance.

Am I a good candidate for Contour TRL™?

Younger patients enjoy Contour TRL™ treatments to combat scarring and hyperpigmentation, while older clients love how the treatment reverses signs of aging around the eyes, mouth, and forehead. Clients should be healthy non-smokers with realistic expectations for their results and who are experiencing the following skin conditions and concerns:

  • Deep-set wrinkles
  • Deep lip lines
  • Fine lines
  • Scarring
  • Sunspots
  • Actinic keratosis
  • Poor skin tone
  • Uneven texture
  • Roughness
  • Dryness
  • Hypopigmentation (white spots) and hyperpigmentation (dark spots)

Contour TRL™ procedure and recovery

Because Contour TRL™ produces deeper resurfacing, a local anesthetic will be injected before treatment to reduce discomfort. As the device is placed over each treatment site, a computer-guided scanner will shine a red beam to pinpoint the fine-tuned laser. Most treatments last 15 to 30 minutes, but the size of the area determines this.

Like other skin-resurfacing treatments, you can expect the following:

  • Some swelling
  • A tight and warm, sunburn-like sensation
  • Redness
  • General discomfort
  • Oozing and mild seeping

However, unlike many effective skin-resurfacing treatments, you will not need to adjust your regular daily routines to recover with Contour TRL™. The treatment’s revolutionary lasers provide a safer experience with less recovery time.

Most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work within 10 to 14 days, and mild to moderate redness can be covered with breathable makeup.

Some other advice for recovery includes:

  • Be careful not to rub the treated area, and do not use any exfoliation until the skin is fully healed
  • When showering, be sure to wash your hair behind you to avoid getting shampoo directly on the treated area
  • Do not allow the treated area to dry out
  • Do not pick, rub, or force off any skin during the healing process, as this can result in scarring and infection
  • Wear sunblock daily to help prevent hyperpigmentation from both direct and indirect sunlight
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for two weeks after treatment or until the skin has fully healed
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for two months following the procedure

What Results Can You Expect?

Most patients only need one treatment to notice a dramatic improvement in their skin, but Dr. Parakh will create a personalized plan for your needs to give you the best overall results.

As your skin heals, you will see noticeable improvements in your skin’s texture, tone, and wrinkle appearance. Because Contour TRL™ encourages collagen production, your skin will continually improve in tightness and resilience over four to six months.
