Morpheus8 Procedure Details

Only local anesthesia is required for a Morpheus8 treatment. It will be applied before the procedure begins, and typically takes about an hour to work. When your treatment area is properly numb, the Morpheus8 handheld instrument will be applied directly to your skin.

the Morpheus8 handheld instrument uses micro-pins that work at different energies. It will work in a “stamping” pattern. With each “stamp”, the micro-pins penetrate deeply into the skin and emit radiofrequency energy. This process is a little uncomfortable, but not overly painful.

We encourage you to let us know if you are in pain so we can adjust the depth. The amount of treatments you’ll need will depend on your individual aesthetic goals, but 1-3 treatments scheduled one month apart is typical.

Downtime and Results

Following Morpheus8 in New Jersey, downtime is very minimal. Although there isn’t any real physical downtime, there may be social downtime because your skin may be reddish for 1-4 days. Common side effects include redness (like a sunburn), small bumps, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, and itching. Makeup may be applied two days after the procedure, and you may use a gentle moisturizer or healing serum as your skin heals. We recommend avoiding exercise or anything else that will make you sweat for 48 hours following Morpheus8.

It’s also important to avoid most skin products, swimming, and any other activity where harmful materials can enter the pores for 48 hours. Let’s talk about sun protection. It is absolutely critical during recovery from Morpehus8. Avoid tanning beds and direct sunlight for two days after your treatment, and when you do go outside, you must wear a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen. Your skin will be very vulnerable at this point, so take good care of it. Early results can be seen after a single treatment, with more noticeable results at 3-6 months.
