Why Have Liposuction?
Do you have ‘problem areas of fat’ on your body that just won’t go away with regular dieting and exercise? Have you worked out, lost weight and still have those stubborn love handles or muffin top? These problem areas can be treated very effectively with liposuction. Essentially if there is extra fat in any area, liposuction can be used to remove it.
Both men and women can have the sculpted body they’ve always wanted by removing lumps of fat via liposuction. Dr. Parakh can help you achieve the slim look of your dreams.
How Can Liposuction Help You?
Men know that gravity takes its toll over the years making skin sag and unwanted fat collect. Genetics also play a factor in how your body looks, too. If you have fat in the abdominal region that just won’t go away, liposuction may be the procedure for you to choose.
Women also struggle with sagging skin and clumps of fat that won’t go away. Age, genetics, and childbirth take a toll on women’s bodies, too. Liposuction is just the procedure you need to remove those stubborn lumps of fat and get the smooth look you want.
No matter your age or gender, improvements can be made in the way you look using liposuction. Give yourself a new, healthy and vital image by getting a firmer looking body by consulting with Dr. Parakh.
What is Liposuction?
Liposuction is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that is used to remove excess fat deposits from areas of body. This is accomplished through small thin tubes called canula which are passed under the skin to remove unwanted fat. This can be performed on any part of the body where there is excess fat.
The fat-reducing procedure of liposuction is safe. It has been an active subset of cosmetic surgery and has been safely performed for over 30 years.
Several techniques of liposuction exist. Dr. Parakh will help you decide which type of liposuction is best for your individual case.
In the Tumescent liposuction technique, large amount of fluid containing epinephrine and numbing medication is instilled into the area. The fluid makes the area firm, helps with postoperative pain and the epinephrine decreases the bleeding during surgery by constricting the blood vessels. Fat is then suctioned from this area with tiny hollow tubes called canulas. Dr. Parakh uses specialized canulas of Microaire Power-assisted Liposuction. This particular canula actually vibrates with a 2 mm reciprocating stroke at 4000 cycles per minute. This vibrational energy separates the fat cells which then mixes with the fluid and can be easily suctioned out. This means less force is required especially in areas where the fat is much denser and results in quicker, smoother recovery. No heat is generated by the canula in this technique unlike laser or ultrasonic, so there is no risk of burning the tissues or the skin.
